The Mid-Day Yawn

I retrieved this information from Chapter 7 of "Brain Rules" by John Medina.

  • Did you know that LBJ, the president of the US in the midst of the Cold War would put on his pajamas and take a 30 minute nap everyday at mid-afternoon?
  • Did you know that more traffic accidents occur at mid-afternoon than during any other time of the day?
  • NASA has determined that a 26-minute nap improved a pilot's performance by more than 34%.
  • Another study has shown that a 45-minute nap produced a similar boost in cognitive performance, lasting more than 6 hours.

If your trading performance suffers during the mid-afternoon session, perhaps you need a nap!
