EasyLanguage Code for $TICK Moving Average
Here is the TradeStation Easylanguage Code that produces a $TICK MA (see Top Chart Above) similar to what Brett Steenbarger has in his NYSE TICK post (Second Chart Above):
Inputs: AvgLength ( 5 ), Price ( ( H + L + C ) / 3 );
Vars: Avg ( 0 ) ;
Avg= XAverage ( Price, AvgLength );
Plot1 (Avg, "Average" );
Plot2 ( 0, "ZeroLine" );

Charles, is the Cumulative Tick that Steenbarger talks about just a moving average? I was under the impression that he was taking it from the start of the trading day. Thanks for your help. Ryan
ReplyDeleteRyan,
ReplyDeletePlease see the new post called "Cumulative $TICK Indicator", dated February 21, which hopefully answers your question.
