Capitulation? Maybe.
In the morning trading, the $VIX.X never thought about trending down until after 1100 ET. Market structure dictated a short strategy the entire morning. The 5 Minute $TICK (not shown) also trended down all morning. If you keep these things in mind, you should stay out of trouble in this type of market.
