End of Day Review 09/29/09

The market closed below the Point-of-Control for both Friday and Monday, which is a negative. The $TICK MA on the 15-minute chart is also trending down, which is another negative. At 1400 ET, the $TICK was trending down as the futures retested the 0930 ET Open Price. The market then slowly worked its way downward for the rest of the afternoon.

  1. Hi Charles,

I wanted to ask if you have set any special settings on your $TICK line. As far as I can see it is a 15 minute, 50 day HLC/3 MA but on my setup these same settings give a flat line. Your $TICK also looks a lot like a MA for the INX (Internet Index)

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help

  2. Hi James,

In TradeStation, $INX is the S&P 500 Cash Index.

Not sure why you are getting a flat line. On my 15-minute chart, the bottom indicator is a 50-period Exponential Moving Average of the $TICK's (H+L+C)/3 pivot for each bar.

    That's all it is.
