The volume bulge at the bottom is an indication that buyers were entering the market.
The VIX was the only thing that came close to indicating that the market might pop to the upside. No other indicator that I follow was suggesting this conclusion to the day. But up it went above its Point of Control. The after hours trading thus far is staying near the close.
